About Me

Hi! I’m Dina Kowal.

I’ve been stamping since about 1993. My style could be described as clean, artistic, detailed and colorful.  From stamping I've gone exploring in many directions with different art media, and I love sharing what I've learned here to encourage you to do the same. Art was a wonderful escape from the pressures of cross-cultural living during our 9 years in ministry overseas, and continues to be a source of healing as we have transitioned back to life in the States.

I started doing freelance design in 2002 as a self-taught graphic artist, began blogging in 2006, joined my first design team in 2007, and found that I truly love creating one-of-a-kind cards, pushing my limits, and thinking outside the box.  In addition to freelance work, I also license artwork to several rubber stamp companies. In 2014 I took on the role of Artist in Residence at Splitcoaststampers and I have loved exploring the depth and width of that position. I recently began teaching pencil classes locally as well. I love to educate and encourage and experiment. It's a perfect fit for me.

Besides stamping, I enjoy cooking and baking, playing the piano, and singing. Between projects I clear my desk to work on commissioned portraits (pets and people), a side business that began in 2017. I love randomness and irony and good grammar. I overuse the word 'brilliant'. I'm extremely hard to feed. I keep my pencils in rainbow order. I'm an old soul and a highly sensitive introvert, and I cherish silence and down time. I listen. I observe.  I love beautiful things, to a point of distraction.

Thank you so much for visiting my site! I hope you find something useful!
